My Story

I have been studying health and wellness for what seems like most of my life – both in and out of the classroom. My first acupuncture treatment was over 25 years ago, and served as my introduction into the world of alternative therapies. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to learn from many healers and teachers who were masters in Reiki, Qigong, Aromatherapy, Acupuncture, Meditation, and more. Each step along this path has given me a new way of viewing wellness, and it excites me to be able to share this with others.

In 2014 my sister circle began studying various alternative healing practices in a workshop series under the leadership of Dr. Robert J. Woodbine, ND. We learned strategies for optimizing our wellness and the importance of taking a more self-reliant, hands-on approach. These techniques not only served us in moments of need, but had the potential to build our resilience and enhance conventional treatments when done consistently. Learning alternative methods in addition to understanding conventional medicine, and knowing when to combine the two, has been a major part of my journey. In 2016 I studied at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition with a community of like minds who were also on a quest to learn more about wellness.

Wellness is a broad concept with many intersecting parts that extend far and wide beyond what we eat and how much we exercise.

Because our health is ever evolving at various stages in our lives, there is no final destination. I have been on both sides of the fence in terms of health – some moments of struggle and other times of sweet victory. What I have come to learn most is that it is never too late to begin - or to begin again.
