A Is for Apple

Don't let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch. Add more variety and pick a different one!

Growing up the only apples I recall were Red Delicious. They were in abundance. In the stores. At school in the cafeteria. Basically everywhere. There was only one problem. I did not like the taste of them at all! So for years I passed on apples, unless they were in a pie!

As an adult I began to explore the world of apples and discovered variety is a beautiful thing! Apples come in different colors and tastes - sweet, sour, very sweet, sweet-tart, etc. You can juice them, bake them, pan fry them, and best of all just eat them raw. They are the perfect portable fruit!

Apples support liver health, boost immunity, are fiber rich, prove to be beneficial for bronchial problems, and contains vitamins B, C, E and a host of minerals.

If you eat the same type of apple, or haven't had one in a while (outside of a pie), I encourage you to walk on the wild side. Just get one in a variety that you have never tried and see how it goes. Remember #wegrownnow!
